Ray Quackenbush 1937-2025

Remembering Raymond Quackenbush, former president of the Arizona Council of Engineering and Scientific Associations (ACESA). Ray served as the president of ACESA from 2010 to 2013, marking him as the 38th president of the organization.

Ray was a dedicated family man who, prior to his involvement with ACESA, dedicated 30 years to Motorola. Following his tenure there, he actively volunteered with youth-focused Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives within schools and municipal projects. He frequently served as a judge at various academic competitions, including school, state, and county fairs, and was an early organizer and judge for the Arizona Science Olympiad.

One of Ray's significant contributions was the establishment of the Teacher and Student of the Year awards, presented annually at the Governor's Celebration of Innovation. He was instrumental in organizing judges and ensuring the awards' publicity and fair evaluation.
