The annual conference, "Voyages of Discovery: Charting the Uncharted in Science Education", will be held on Thursday, November 7, and Friday, November 8, at the Delta Hotel-Marriott. This professional learning event will bring together more than 300 PreK through post-secondary educators to learn and celebrate science education. This year also marks the 70th anniversary of ASTA!
Thursday will consist of professional development that will help Arizona science teachers implement three-dimensional science lessons. On Friday afternoon, conference participants will have the opportunity to attend four professional learning sessions focused on one of the three following strands:
On Friday morning, the Amoeba Sisters, Sarina Peterson and Brianna Rapini, will deliver the keynote address. They will be speaking on "Exploring Six Themes of Science Misconceptions." ASTA will recognize four outstanding science teachers and an exhibit hall will be open on Friday for attendees to learn about resources to help them teach their scholars.
