Southern Arizona (Tucson and surrounding area) Regional Science and Engineering Fair

We are happy to announce that judge registration is now OPEN for the 2023 SARSEF Regional Science and Engineering Fair! This will be the 68th Annual SARSEF Fair, where we have the opportunity once again to encourage these young scientist and engineers and let them know their research matters. There are some exciting changes for the 2023 Fair - specifically that High School judging and interviews will return to in-person! Here is some key info and the 2023 schedule. Key Info for the 2023 Fair 

• All projects (PreK-12) will be digital submissions 
• Elementary and Middle School (PreK-8) will be judged and interviewed virtually over Zoom
• High School (9-12) judging and interviews will take place IN PERSON on the UA Campus  
• Project categories have been reworked, see new categories and descriptions 
• Updated judging criteria has been uploaded to the website 

Important Judging Dates for the 2023 Fair  

• February 28 - March 2 – Judge Training
• Saturday, March 4 – Virtual exhibit hall goes live, project review begins
• Monday, March 6 – Grades PreK-8 Caucusing 
• March 6, 4:00-6:00p and/or March 7, 9:00-11:00a – Grades PreK-8 Interviews over Zoom (PreK-8 judges will choose one session to attend)
• Wednesday, March 8, 10:00a-3:00p – High School (9-12) Interviews and Caucusing (held IN PERSON at UArizona Grand Ballroom) 
• Friday, March 10 12:00pm – Winners list posted online (names only, no award info) 
• Saturday, March 11 – Awards Ceremony and Community STEM Expo 
  • 10:00a-12:00p Elementary School Awards 
  • 11:00a-3:00p Community STEM Expo 
  • 3:00p-5:30p Middle School and High School Awards  
• Monday, March 13 – SARSEF Office closed 
• Tuesday, March 14 – Full awards list posted online 
• Wednesday, March 15 – Friday, March 24 – Unclaimed Award Delivery to Schools
